Publishing's comprehensive Missouri Studies
program features a unique mix of attention-getting graphics
and easy-to-read text. Together, they provide the tools to
capture students' interest and build progressively on student
knowledge.
Program materials advance logically and systematically through
the state's colorful history to the present. High-interest
information and concepts are designed to focus student attention,
improve recall, and sharpen thinking skills.
Imaginative suggestions challenge students to think about,
remember, compare, and perform mental activities that focus
attention on the text. Key graphics summarize data and concepts
while the text continues to relate previously discussed content
to the topic under study.
Activity Book
The carefully planned Activity Book contains five relevant
activities for each chapter: Vocabulary, Reviewing the Facts,
Developing Your Skills, Applying the Chapter, and Keeping
What You Have Learned. The activities are compiled to enable
students to develop core competencies and key skills, while
applying the content of the textbook to purposeful, hypothetical
situations. The tasks for each chapter become progressively
more complex, allowing students to build on previously learned
skills.
The Teacher's Guide
The Teacher's Guide includes answer keys, chapter quizzes,
and final exam (in blackline master format) that work in concert
with the text and activity book to strengthen a vitally important
facet of each student's citizenship education.
